Honorius ruled the western part of the Roman Empire when Arcadius ruled the eastern part. They were both sons of the emperor Theodosius I, who died in 395 AD. Honorius was only 10 years old when he became emperor, and he was not very good at ruling. He was easily influenced by his advisors, and he made many bad decisions.
