Arcadius was the Eastern Roman Emperor from 395 to 408. He ruled from Constantinople, the capital of the Eastern Roman Empire. He was the son of Emperor Theodosius I and his first wife, Aelia Flaccilla. Arcadius was a weak and ineffectual ruler, and the Eastern Roman Empire declined under his rule.
