Peter Debye was born on 24 March 1884 in Maastricht, Netherlands. He was a Dutch physical chemist who made major contributions to understanding the structure of molecules and solids. Debye was awarded the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1936 for his work on Theory of polar molecules.
