Franciscus Patricius was a philosopher and scholar who was born in Sicily in 1529. He initially studied Aristotle, but later became interested in Plato and Neoplatonism. He wrote a number of works on philosophy, including a commentary on Aristotle's Metaphysics. Patricius was also a member of the Accademia dei Lincei, an Italian scientific society.
