Answer
Franciscus Patricius was a philosopher and humanist from the Renaissance. He was involved in a controversy with the Roman Inquisition towards the end of his life, when his main work, "De regno", was banned. The book was critical of the Catholic Church, and Patricius was accused of heresy. He was eventually acquitted, but the controversy damaged his reputation.
