Arcadius (377 – 408) was Roman Emperor from 383 to 408, ruling the eastern part of the empire with his younger brother Honorius in the west. Arcadius was the son of Emperor Theodosius I and his first wife, Aelia Flaccilla. He was born in 377 in Constantinople, and succeeded his father as emperor in 383, at the age of 6.
