Egyptian. Zahi Hawass is an Egyptian archaeologist, Egyptologist, and former Minister of State for Antiquities Affairs. He has been credited for bringing new ideas to the management and promotion of Egypt's cultural heritage, in addition to his extensive excavation and restoration work. Hawass completed his undergraduate and graduate degrees in archaeology at Cairo University.
