Yuri Oganessian is a Russian nuclear physicist who currently works at the Flerov Laboratory of Nuclear Reactions in Dubna, Russia. He is best known for his work on the discovery of superheavy elements, including the elements 114, 116, and 118. Oganessian has been awarded numerous awards for his work, including the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 2013.
