Answer
The title of Prince of Orange is traditionally bestowed upon the heir apparent to the Dutch throne. Willem-Alexander received this title in 1980 when his mother, Queen Beatrix, ascended to the throne. Prior to that, he had held the title of Prince of the Netherlands from birth. Upon his mother's abdication in 2013, Willem-Alexander succeeded her as King of the Netherlands.
