Theodosius Dobzhansky was a Russian-American geneticist and evolutionary biologist who is considered one of the founders of the modern synthesis of Darwinian evolution and Mendelian genetics. Dobzhansky emigrated from Russia to the United States in 1927, and he spent the rest of his life in the United States.
