In 2014-15, Susan Rice, who was then the US National Security Advisor, dealt with the Ebola epidemic. The epidemic started in West Africa and spread to other parts of the world. It was the largest Ebola outbreak in history and killed over 11,000 people. Rice worked with other government officials to coordinate the US response to the epidemic. She also worked with international organizations to help contain the outbreak.
