Raila Odinga entered politics in 1992 when he was elected as a Member of Parliament (MP) for the Lang'ata constituency in Kenya. He later served as the Minister for Energy, the Minister for Roads, Public Works and Housing, and the Leader of the Opposition. In 2008, he was appointed Prime Minister in a power-sharing agreement following a disputed presidential election.
