Philip Noel-Baker died on 8 October 1982 at the age of 88. He was a British Labour Party politician and a prominent internationalist. He was a member of Parliament for Coventry East from 1929 to 1959 and was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1959 for his work in the field of disarmament.
