Answer
Jock McFadyen was the first artist-in-residence after the scheme restarted, at the National Gallery in London. The scheme was restarted in 2006, after a 30-year hiatus. The purpose of the scheme is to provide artists with the opportunity to spend time at the gallery and to create work inspired by its collections. McFadyen spent a year at the gallery, and his work was exhibited there in 2007.
