Answer
Maldonado joined the Lotus F1 team in 2014. He replaced Kimi Räikkönen, who had left to join Ferrari. Maldonado had previously driven for Williams and had a reputation for being a fast but crash-prone driver. He had a disappointing season with Lotus, finishing 12th in the Drivers' Championship with just 25 points. He was replaced by Romain Grosjean for the 2015 season.
