Michael I. Pupin was a Serbian-American physicist, inventor, and educator. He was a professor of physics at Columbia University and was the dean of the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences from 1913 to 1933. Pupin was a member of the New York Academy of Sciences and served as its president from 1923 to 1925.
