Luc Montagnier was born in Paris, France on August 18, 1932. He is a French virologist and Nobel laureate in Physiology or Medicine who shared the 2008 Nobel Prize with Françoise Barré-Sinoussi and Harald zur Hausen for his discovery of HIV, the virus that causes AIDS.
