In addition to the Nobel Prize, John Kendrew won many other awards throughout his lifetime, including the Royal Medal in 1958, the Copley Medal in 1962, and the Order of Merit in 1967. He was also elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1953, and served as its President from 1969 to 1970.
