Homi Jehangir Bhabha was an Indian physicist who played a leading role in the development of nuclear energy in India. He was also the founder and director of the Indian Institute of Science in Bangalore. On 24 January 1966, Bhabha was on board Air India Flight 101 when it crashed into Mont Blanc, a mountain in the Alps. Bhabha and all 117 other passengers and crew on board were killed.
