Hashim Thaçi was the first person to hold the official position of Prime Minister in Kosovo. He served in this position from 1999 to 2002. During his time in office, he oversaw the transition of Kosovo from a UN-administered territory to an independent state. He also played a key role in negotiating the Kosovo Status Agreement with Serbia.
