Partch was financially supported later in his career by grants, university appointments, and record sales. He received several grants from the Guggenheim Foundation, the Rockefeller Foundation, and the National Endowment for the Arts. He also taught at universities, including the University of California, San Diego, and the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign.
