Nawi was notably active in Ta'ayush. Ta'ayush is a Jewish-Arab partnership that works for nonviolent resistance and peace. They are opposed to the Israeli occupation of the West Bank and the Israeli government's policies towards Palestinians. Nawi was a co-founder of Ta'ayush and served as its chairman from 2005 to 2008.
