Dorothy Hodgkin was born Dorothy Crowfoot on May 12, 1910. She was an English biochemist who won the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1964 for her work on the structure of penicillin and vitamin B12. She was the first woman to win the Nobel Prize in Chemistry.
