Dorothy Hodgkin died on July 29th, 1994. She was a British biochemist who was awarded the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1964 for her work on the structure of penicillin. Hodgkin was also a pioneer in the use of X-ray crystallography to study the structure of biological molecules.
