Yes, he did. Doddie Weir returned to his hometown club of Melrose in 2001 and played for them until he retired in 2011. During that time, he helped the team win two Scottish Premiership titles, one Scottish Cup, and one European Challenge Cup. He also represented Scotland at international level, winning 61 caps and scoring 25 tries. In 2011, Weir was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease, a progressive neurodegenerative disease.
