The American Music Awards is an annual awards ceremony hosted by the American Broadcasting Company. It was created by Dick Clark and his company Dick Clark Productions in 1973. The AMAs recognize the best-selling albums, songs, and artists in the United States. Dana's band Slaughter has won several AMAs, including the award for Favorite Heavy Metal/Hard Rock Group in 1991 and 1992.
