Cliff Burton, Metallica’s renowned bassist, tragically lost his life in a tour bus accident on September 27, 1986. While traveling through Dörarp, Sweden, the bus skidded on a patch of black ice, causing it to veer off the road and flip over. Burton, who was asleep in his bunk at the time, was unfortunately thrown out of a window and crushed beneath the overturned vehicle.
