  • More than 10 years

  • His career did not rebound

Answer

It took Chet Baker over a decade to rebuild his career after his struggles with drug addiction derailed it in the late 1950s. During this time, he lost his recording contract, battled legal issues, and his health deteriorated. It was only in the late 1960s that he made a comeback, thanks to the help of producer Creed Taylor, who signed him to Verve Records and produced several successful albums.
