As part of the Treaty of Craiova, Southern Dobrudja was given to Bulgaria from Romania. This treaty was signed on September 7, 1913, and was the result of the Second Balkan War. The treaty ceded Southern Dobrudja to Bulgaria, which had been under Romanian control since the Treaty of Berlin in 1878. The treaty also gave Bulgaria access to the Black Sea.
