The Jazz Messengers were a jazz group founded by drummer Art Blakey in 1954. The group's original lineup included Blakey on drums, trumpeter Clifford Brown, saxophonist Benny Golson, pianist Horace Silver, and bassist Doug Watkins. The group recorded several albums for Blue Note Records, including "The Jazz Messengers", "At the Café Bohemia", and "Moanin'".
