In 1962, Lord Denning returned to the Court of Appeal as Master of the Rolls. He had previously served on the Court of Appeal from 1944 to 1957. As Master of the Rolls, Lord Denning was responsible for overseeing the work of the Court of Appeal and for issuing judgments in cases that were appealed from the High Court.
