Adam Riess is an American astronomer and astrophysicist. He is the James B. Duke Professor of Physics and Astronomy at Johns Hopkins University and a Senior Scientist at the Space Telescope Science Institute. Riess received the Nobel Prize in Physics in 2011 for his work in discovering the accelerating expansion of the universe.
